
Yemi Eberechi Alade (born 13 March 1989), is a Nigerian Afropop singer, songwriter actress and activist.
Where is Yemi Alade from? She was born in Abia State in the southeastern part of Nigeria, and grew up in Lagos in the southwestern part of the country. The singer holds Nigerian citizenship. Her parents, Helen Uzoma (from Igbo tribe) and James Alade (from Yoruba background) brought her to the world on March 13, 1989. She is currently thirty-two years old. Her father worked as a police commissioner.
Yemi Alade music career Yemi began her music career in 2009. Her fame grew when she won the Peak Talent Show the same year. In 2012 the songbird signed a contract with Effyzzie Music Group, a music record label that she has worked with to release most of her songs. Real fame came to her in late 2013, after the release of the smash hit “Johnny.” It topped all the music charts in the majority of African countries, and, impressively, United Kingdom.
She won the Peak Talent Show in 2009, after which she signed to Effyzzie Music Group, and had a hit with her single “Johnny” in 2014. Since then Yemi has gained prominence in the music industry and considered one of the biggest artists in Africa. Following the releases of her albums King of Queens and Mama Africa with huge commercial success recorded for both albums, she embarked on world tours consecutively .
