Ashton Durrand Sanders (born October 24, 1995) is an American actor and model. Ashton Sanders was born in Carson, California where he attended Grand Arts High School in Los Angeles, from which he graduated in 2013. He was studying towards a BFA at The Theater School at DePaul University before leaving after three years in 2016 to focus on his acting career. With a convincing promising career, he is best known for his portrayal of teenage Chiron in theAcademyAward-winningfilm Moonlight(2016).
While in the Theater School, he received the script for “Moonlight,” and was cast as the teenaged Chiron, who endures physical and emotional abuse from all corners of his life, including his mother (Naomie Harris) and the object of his affection (Jharrel Jerome). Sanders’ performance was praised by critics, and earned numerous accolades, including two individual acting nominations from the Black Reel Awards and ensemble laurels from the Independent Spirit and Gotham Awards.
In 2019 Ashton Sanders was featured is an impressive American saga TV series Wu-Tang which also gave him the opportunity to instrument his creativity and love for music.
